Rutgers Cooperative Extension is excited to present an urban gardening webinar series IN SPANISH, titled “El Huerto Urbano.” This series consists of live webinars in which colleagues from the New Jersey Agricultural Extension Station and experts from USDA NRCS will offer advice for beginner gardeners with a different gardening topic each session. This is a series geared towards beginner gardeners interested in learning how to grow a vegetable and herb garden in urban spaces. The livestreamed presentations are for adults, but gardening activities for the whole family will be covered.
Join us on Wednesdays starting February 19th online at 7:30 PM. These free virtual sessions are COMPLETELY IN SPANISH (please note there will be no translation into English), will last 1 hour and 15 minutes and will be held live via Zoom. Participants must register to join: go.rutgers.edu/gv5t02gn.

RCE Learning Gardens at Lincoln Park and West Hudson Park
The RCE Family Learning Garden at Lincoln Park in Jersey City is a partnership between Hudson County RCE (Rutgers Cooperative Extension) and the Hudson County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Children and Youth Services, with support from Hudson County Department of Parks. The RCE Family Learning Garden was built in April 2022, and serves as an outdoor classroom, creating educational opportunities for youth and families to learn gardening skills that they may implement at home and in their communities. In addition to garden programming, our Learning Garden will partner with local community-based groups to provide education on environmental stewardship and nutrition education. The RCE Family Learning Garden is managed by the RCE Urban Gardener and with the support of youth and community volunteers. To volunteer, please contact Roxana Marroquin at rm1679@njaes.rutgers.edu.
